- Directing the introduction into service of the UK Apache helicopter fleet
- Planning and implementing the merger of UK Land Forces and British Army of the Rhine

His parallel background in managing operational Communications and Information Systems has enabled him to relate the opportunities and threats posed by IT and Cyber to the challenges of modern management in a very pragmatic way.
